Madam Cecilia Dapaah Resigns as Minister for Sanitation

News reaching today indicates that Hon. Cecilia Dapaah resigns as minister for sanitation because of the current happenings. The minister resigned because of the public uproar from the quantum of money and other treasures stolen from her bedroom.

Suppose you could remember during the government of the NDC when Vicky Hammer mentioned quitting politics if she could make $1m from her work. The same sentiments from the Ghanaian public made her resign from her position.

The same thing happened to Madam Cecilia Dapaah when her house-help stole this huge amount of money from her bedroom which should have been deposited at the bank. The story went viral after the court issue and the charge sheet got onto the internet.

The mainstream media and other big platforms splash her name making a mockery of people wanting to also become a house help of other ministers of state. It is not funny anymore because the pressure was too much for her to contain despite her release this morning to counter other misleading information.

To know more about her issue if this is the first time reading this news then I will share exert of it with you. On July 22, 2023, we woke up to see all the trending information about the sanitation minister that house help stole an amount of $1m, 300K Euros, and millions of Ghanaian cedis at her residence in Abelenkpe, Accra, in October 2022.

The minister this morning made it clear this morning through her release that people are throwing out misinformation about her court issue. The pressure seems beyond the minister and the better way to avoid embarrassment and the government at this critical time makes it wise for the resignation.

From the resignation letter of Minister, she made it clear that it was a privilege to serve under this government and the figures out there are full of inconsistencies.

According to the Minister, “ Since Yesterday, Friday, July 21, 2023, social and traditional media have been full of stories about a court case involving a theft that took place last year in my home with my husband and daughter. The stories sought to suggest that I own various huge sums of foreign currencies and millions of Ghana cedis that have been stolen from my home.

Whereas I can state categorically that figures do not correctly represent what my husband and I reported to the police, I am very much aware of the import of such stories around someone in my position.

I am therefore resigning because I do not want this matter to become a preoccupation of government and a hindrance to the work of government at such a crucial time.”

Madam Cecilia Dapaah resigns as minister for sanitation to clear doubts and make matters clear to the public and her loved ones. This is one of the bombshells this year and many are still wondering why she could horde such huge amounts of foreign currencies in her bedroom.
