Why Bulldog got sentenced for threatening Akufo Addo

The Accra Circuit Court has sentenced the Artiste Manager, Lawrence Nana Asiama Hanson, alias Bulldog for insulting the president of Ghana. He was fined the amount of Ghc48,000 for his comment on TV that President Akufo-Addo will not finish his second term in office if he does not pay the Menzgold customers.

Nana Asiama aka Bulldog January 2021 made comment on a live TV program that led to his arrest. He made such a comment on a popular UTV program known as United Showbiz. He made a comment on that program that Nana Akufo-Addo will not end his second tenure if he fails to pay Menzgold customers owned by Name 1.

He strongly argued that the president will not end his tenure of 4 years if the president fails to get the Menzgold customers paid.

Bulldog also suggested that the customers invested at their own risk, and the phrase that no one can hold the government accountable is sad and not a good thing to hear.

He said “We’ll get our monies back else Nana Addo will run; he won’t finish his 4 years. I’m telling you. He won’t finish his 4 years” with an angry look on his face.

His comment showed that his comment is not a result of that he was once an employee of Zylofon Media. A company that is owned by the CEO of Menzgold, Nana Appiah Mensah (Nam1). He insisted that he is also a victim of the incident that happened to the loss of funds.

This comment by the artiste’s manager Bulldog was sued over the comment he made against the man of the highest office in the country.

He appeared at the court and pleaded not guilty over his comment and was later found guilty in the subsequent court appearance.

He later explained to the public and the court that his intention was to appeal to the president but not in I anyway relating to insults or threats.

He was told by the court presided by Evelyn Asamoah that his comment was no in any way showing an appeal to the president.

The judge insisted that his comment was a threat and could incite people against the president of the Republic. “What he said could have serious security implications as it put the President in danger,” said the Judge.
